Facilitating seamless communication with governmental entities, the Suomi.fi app also enables users to submit supplementary information in relation to their applications. Encryption of messages exchanged between the device and servers ensures reliable and secure communication when utilizing the app. This service is managed by the Digital and Population Data Services Agency.

Upon initial use, users are required to undergo strong authentication using banking IDs, a mobile certificate, or an ID card. Subsequently, access only requires inputting the designated PIN code. The app allows for a maximum of five active devices per user, with device management options available within the app settings.
